Cllr Stuart Lawson, ward member for Kesgrave was delighted to give £2k from his Enabling Communities Budget to the Kesgrave Bowls Club.
The club; located at Kesgrave Community Centre since 1992, has used the funding to purchase two lawn bowls friendly para-wheelchairs. The new wheelchairs will help current members, visiting teams, and newcomers to take part in playing bowls alongside more abled players.
Bowls has proved to be a great sport which provides an active and enjoyable way to socialise. It’s the hope of Kesgrave Bowls Club that the new chairs will encourage inclusivity and new members to the wonderful outdoor sporting arena based within the heart of Kesgrave.
The para-wheelchairs, which feature custom-made wheels, will ensure that the lawns are protected while in use, so the beautiful bowling green remains in tip-top shape for all.
Kesgrave Bowls Club look forward to welcoming current and new members for its 2026 season, and they send their thanks to Cllr Lawson for the financial support through his Enabling Communities Budget.
