Earlier this year, Cllr Mallinder used part of the enabling community budget to support his local village, Bromeswell on their bus shelter project.
During several years, the bus shelter had begun to look a neglected, so the parish council organised a project to clean, repair and paint the bus shelter, along with planting daffodils bulbs donated by Cllr Mallinder. The shelter is now a lovely asset to the local community.
Civic pride is an important focus for your Conservative councillors, and this is a clear example of a local councillor helping his local community in making a difference.
East Suffolk Council’s Enabling Community Budgets (ECBs) support activities delivered by community, voluntary and social enterprise organisations.
Community groups wishing to apply for Enabling Community Budget funding should contact their district councillor or visit: https://www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/.../enabling-communities.../
