Carlton Colville ward councillors, Myles Scrancher and Letitia Smith recently gave £2,402 from their ‘Enabling Communities Budget’ to establish a new Men’s Shed project in Carlton Colville.
The group meet monthly on the second and last Thursday of each month (2pm-4pm) at the Scouts Hut in Carlton Colville.
The Men’s Shed project provides its members with an opportunity to meet, chat, share stories and life experiences in a relaxed environment. Projects such as these have been recognised for improving the mental health and wellbeing of its members.
Support and interest in the Men’s Shed is growing quickly, nearby Pakefield and Kessingland have waiting lists to join and are directing new members to join Carlton Colville.
Cllr Smith recently spent an afternoon at the Carlton Colville Men’s Shed to see how they were getting on and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon chatting with members.
