East Suffolk Conservatives condemn the outbreak of disorder across the UK, there is no place in our society for riotous behaviours particularly following the tragic events in Southport.

The individuals perpetrating the violence appear to have no regard for the victims or their families but have just seized an opportunity to create havoc in law abiding towns.

Thankfully at the moment there have been no reported incidents within East Suffolk, and we hope that remains the case. We are assured that the Suffolk Constabulary Safer Neighbourhood Teams are continuing to keep watchful eyes in communities within East Suffolk.

The Leader of the Conservative Group, Cllr Mark Jepson said ‘We should not forget the tragic circumstances that led to these outbreaks of violence, our thoughts remain with all the victims and their families. Having been a police officer for 30 years, my thoughts and that of the Conservative Party also extend to the officers across the country who have been injured or who are having to police these violent protests’.
