The Kesgrave, Rushmere St Andrew, Martlesham Carlford and Fynn Valley Community Partnership was created in 2019 by East Suffolk Council’s Conservative administration. The Community Partnership sits alongside seven others across East Suffolk. Each partnership consists of East Suffolk Councillors, together with key partners from town and parish councils, Suffolk County Council, Police, Health, businesses, voluntary organisations, community groups and youth representatives. All involved work together to ‘bring ideas to life’ by taking a solution focused approach to local priorities.
The Kesgrave, Rushmere St Andrew, Martlesham Carlford and Fynn Valley Community Partnership has been instrumental in providing match funding and main funding for hundreds of deserving and important projects across the East Suffolk area, including several road safety programmes.
East Suffolk Conservative councillor, Colin Hedgley, ward Member for Carlford and Fynn Valley and Community Partnership member said, “At the beginning of the Community Partnership scheme, started by the previous administration, I was dubious about the outcome, but after six years it has been a resounding success”.
SAVID was developed in 2014 by Cllrs Colin Hedgley and Tony Fryatt, (since retired) and has grown into an effective pressure group for road safety. It has ten participating parishes and continues to campaign on road safety issues throughout the local area, funded by grants from member parish councils and the Community Partnership.
