Councillor Mark Jepson, leader of the East Suffolk Conservative Group was delighted to attend the annual Global Food and Pita Festival at Suffolk New College in May.
The event, hosted by the BSC Multicultural Services in Ipswich, was well attended with over 2,000 people visiting to celebrate food, health and culture.
The festival was established 13 years ago to celebrate food, culture, promote understanding and unite communities in Suffolk. This year’s event featured food stalls, competitions, entertainment, healthy eating advice and the Pita and Global food awards.
Cllr Jepson has forged a strong working relationship with BSC Multicultural Services over the years recognising how hard they work to support different communities.
Mark is pictured with Rupa one of the support officers working at the BSC and Steph Mackentyre who he volunteers with on Suffolk Sound. Mark hosts a Community Hour programme three times a week where he leaves his political views at the door and showcases many voluntary and charitable organisations across from the county.
