Cllr James Mallinder, ward member for Deben Peninsula was on hand to ring church bells on the 8th of May at Hollesley to celebrate VE80, the whole nation rang at 6.30pm to celebrate this important event. He was honoured to be part of marking this occasion.
Being part of the local community continues to be a priority for James and being a local bell ringer is a perfect example of his commitment to village life.
Cllr Mallinder was delighted to use part of his enabling community budget to support and aid the Hollesley Village VE80 party celebrations - fancy dress and a sit-down dinner, followed by dancing to period 1940s music. Much fun was had by everyone.
Cllr Mallinder said: ‘These events are so important, bringing the community together and my funding was put to good use to reduce ticket prices and to assist in decorating the village hall. I am so proud in representing this special corner of Suffolk and I’m always happy to support local events such as these. ‘
