Shottisham village hall receives funding for kitchen project.

Cllr James Mallinder, ward member for Deben recently met with the local WI group in Shottisham to discuss their new kitchen project.

Through his Enabling Community Budget, he was more than happy to donate £3,000 as seed funding for the much-needed kitchen upgrade. Shottisham village hall is the heart of the community and is used by many local groups.

 

ECBs support activities delivered by community, voluntary and social enterprise organisations. The budget comes from New Homes Bonus (funding generated through new houses built in the district) for 2024/2025.

It provides each of the 55 elected members of East Suffolk Council a £7,500 Enabling Communities Budget to spend on community projects or to develop new projects in their ward to tackle local need.

Cllr Stuart Lawson, ward member for Kesgrave was delighted to give £2k from his Enabling Communities Budget to the Kesgrave Bowls Club.The club; located at Kesgrave Community Centre since 1992, has used the funding to purchase two lawn bowls friendly para-wheelchairs.
