Enabling

East Suffolk Council’s Enabling Communities Budgets support activities delivered by community, voluntary and social enterprise organisations.

Cllr Mark Jepson, Ward Member for Eastern Felixstowe recently used part of his annual £7,500 Enabling Communities Budget to tackle a local need and fund the purchase of blood pressure machines for the surgery at Old Felixstowe Community Hall.

Cllr Jepson visited parish nurse, Helen Hood who was delighted to receive the blood pressure machines. Helen said that the simple pieces of equipment helped to provide a valuable service to the community.

In the first hour of her surgery at the Community Hall, nine people had been seen and two were referred to their GP for further tests.

Community groups wishing to apply for Enabling Community Budget funding should contact their district councillor or visit: Enabling Communities Budgets » East Suffolk Council
