- Judy has lived in Bungay for nearly 40 years. She and Brian have two adult daughters who were educated in the town.
- A civil servant by profession, she has been involved in local affairs for many years, as a member of the PTA and Governor of Earsham First and Bungay Middle schools, she is also a trustee of Bungay Community Library and has helped at the Friends of St Mary’s fundraising events.
- Judy was a Town Councillor for eight years, serving a term as Mayor, also Deputy on two occasions, when she oversaw the refurbishment of the town’s playparks, helped devise the plan to ensure an hour’s free parking in the town car parks, and liaised with Suffolk Highways regarding the Town Enforcement Scheme.
- A feoffee of the Town Trust, she is also chairman of the Bungay Honeypot Centre Trustees, who after working tirelessly to raise funds, celebrated the build of a new community centre for Bungay. The new Community Centre opened in July 2021.
